I met him through his work for Branch 9, the Royal Canadian Legion, and I was always impressed with his thoroughness in keeping records, even if his style was much before the advent of the computer. He always had a kind word for me. To all the members of his family, my sincere condolences on the loss of a true gentleman.

I was very sad to hear the news of uncle Doug's passing. I have admired him since I was very young. He is and always will be one of my heroes. I remember when I first started my job with government, I was unsure of myself. However uncle Doug gave me reassurance and confidence that I would do fine...that was 25 years ago now. Thank you uncle Doug. I love you and will miss you.
