Charlene has a very special spot in my memory because of the years of dedicated service as a caregiver she provided to the Bentleys, first to my uncle, Doug Bentley and subsequently to my parents, Dorothy and Gordon. When Dad passed away in 2001, Charlene continued to provide care and companionship to Mum until my family was able to relocate to Pomeroy Ridge late in 2003. In those intervening years, not only did she do an outstanding job caring for Mum but she proved equally adept at looking after the house and grounds. In my absence, it was reassuring to know that thanks to her versatility and work ethic, everything back home was under control. We were indeed fortunate to have had her in service.
To Sid and family and on behalf of my wife Marion and our children Verika, Gordon and Jurrien, please accept our sincere condolences with her passing.
Victor

Saddened to learn of your loss. I got to know Charlene at T&D Special Care Home where my brother is a resident. My brother respected and confided in Charlene. Knowing how challenging it can be, my heart and mind were at ease as I witnessed the compassion and care he received by Charlene and the others. It was always a pleasure to chat with and get to know her better each time I'd visit. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Our sincere condolences in the passing of Charlene. She was the epitome of being a good wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. We got to know Charlene when she was working for Doug Bently and sister his in-law & Dorothy Bentley. At the time we lived next door to Dorothy. I can still see Charlene driving the lawn tractor cutting Doug's grass as if was second nature. Also in the evenings Charlene driving Dorothy up and down the roads on their evening tour. In later years she helped us out by doing housekeeping duties while we were in Florida and making sure we had enough pickles, beets, and jams to see us through the winter. I was also a recipient of her lending library as she always filled my suitcase with reading material to last for months. Charlene was one of a kind and someone so special she will never be forgotten. Rest in peace my friend.

Charlene and her beautiful family were one of the brightest spots in my childhood. It’s hard to believe that heaven needed another angel more than we needed her here on earth, but if I know anything at all it’s that she already has her wings on and has found her favorite spot in the library or garden to read the best books and is whipping up a batch of chocolate macaroons. Loved and fondly remembered forever❤️ My heart is with all of her family and friends. Condolences to all❤️
