Dianne, I have been thinking of you and your family since I learned that Dick had died suddenly. This must be a difficult time for you, but I know you are strong and your family and friends will help you through this. I didn't of course know Dick well, he was so quiet :) But you were a good couple and obviously had a lot of fun together. And I know you will miss him.
Please accept our sympathy (from Jean-Claude and me) and let us help you if there is something we can do.

I had the opportunity to work with Dick at Point Lepreau for many years, and have fond memories of the time we spent studying and working on shift together. His quiet dedication and determination to always do "the right thing" was something that we all appreciated and admired. My condolences to Dick's family for their loss of such a kind and caring father.

Ours hearts go out to Dick's family and friends. I worked close with Dick for most of my 34 tears at Lepreau, from the early days on "B" Crew until Dick's retirement party. I think often of "Goose", as he was lovingly known, and looked forward to a St Stephen visit one day with hopes of meeting up. Well, the meet won't happen but the great memories will always be with me.

Family,
Dick was the first Control room operator that I worked for when I started at PLGS. He was extremely knowledgeable, experienced, personable and an amazing teacher. I spent many hours listening and learning. The last time we talked was on the sidewalk in Fredericton where he had been walking with a new guitar he had purchased as gift for one of the kids. Rest easy old friend.

I was saddened to hear that Dick passed away. I want to offer my deepest condolences to his family. I worked with Dick many years. As other co-workers have said, he was extremely knowledgeable at his work. I found he had a great but quiet sense of humour. His reaction to anything funny was to throw his head back with an ear to ear grin but never uttered a sound. Of course he was a man of few words, very quiet. But when he talked though, you’d listen. What he had to say was important and well thought out. And he was a great listener who always was quick to help by giving suggestions or coaching. I learned a lot from him.
I remember someone saying that “when someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure”. You will certainly treasure all your memories of Dick and may these good memories see you through any difficult times ahead. Wishing you peace and strength.
Rest In Peace Dick.

My deepest condolences to the Clairoux family for your loss. When I started my career at PLGS in 1992, Dick became a friend and a mentor who was instrumental in helping me succeed as a Certified Control Room Operator. There were few who mastered the language of "Dickineese", although I was one of them. I have many fond memories of the Goose, he will be missed.

Diane, our deepest condolences from Trish and I.
As many have said, Dick was very good at what he did professionally. Hands down one of the best.
Having worked with Dick on the same crew for so many years, and travelling with him in our car pool for nearly 20 years I saw a side most didn’t. It was always interesting to see him open up and talk about plans he had with Diane, what the boys were up to, and how things were going with his family outside of St Stephen. There was always something going on with the lions club that also got him going every now and then. It didn’t happen every day but when he started talking there was no stopping him. I know, most people won’t believe this, but I swear it’s true. Notice how I used swear.... He would drop certain words like they were commas given a certain situation.
I will miss running into Goose on the streets of St Stephen. It was always good to catch up. Those days have come to an end.
Goodbye Dick, thanks for making me a better operator and giving me all those great memories.

My condolences to the whole family. I worked with Dick in the early eighties on a shift crew. He always impressed me with his knowledge of the plant. An operator would call him, and he would ask where are you and then he would give exact steps from that point to the valve the operator was trying to find. I was surprised when he joined in with the crew softball team and even more surprised when he said he would head down to Bangor with us to play in a fun tournament. We called him Goose based on Goose Gossage of the Yankees as we brought him in as a reliever during our softball games. He had a great sense of humor and a brilliant mind for the technical aspects of the plant. I was very blessed to have had met him and have fond memories of working with him. RIP Goose

You may be trying to hide your tears. It might feel like you are being strong by not crying. To cry is not to be weak, but rather to release your sorrow so that you can let go of it and move forward. You may need to cry every day. Cry...but then dry your eyes and live your life with joy until the next time you need to shed the inevitable tears that come with the grieving process. Crying is a natural part of healing. Cry, but then laugh and smile as you live a full and meaningful life.

My deepest condolences to your while family.
Most of my memories of him revolver around checking the calendar on the way into the house to see how loud we could be. Or us waiting outside the living room for him to finish what he was watching so we could start whatever crazy low budget direct to video movie we'd rented. Or him passing through the dining room and watching us play games for just a few moments.
I don't know that he ever understood what we were doing, but he never said a word against any of it, and to a bunch of nerdy teenagers in a small town that can mean everything.

To Dick’s Family
He was one of those people, who was a friend to all. I worked with DIck in the early eighties and his knowledge always impressed me. From the control room, he know where everything was in the Station.
One of the fun memories of Dick that comes back, was a ball tournament in Bangor, where Dick showed his playful side to his fellow employees.
RIP Goose

Dick was the Control Room Operator whose shift I was assigned to when I became a Shift Supervisor back in '85. As others have mentioned, he wasn't a man of many words, but when he spoke you could hear a pin drop because he had thought out clearly what he needed to say.
When faced with a technical difficulty he would look off in the distance, say "ahh, hold on there..." and then come up with a well thought out solution - - - I often wondered if he had a CPU in that brain of his. Wonderful operator and person, great sense of humor and a huge asset to those of us lucky enough to work with him.
RIP Goose!

Dick was one of the original, good guys, hired to work at PLGS. I was happy to work with him. A kind man, who always took time to say hi and chat briefly when we met up. Very sad to hear that we have lost one of our PLGS family. My thoughts and prayers are with Dianne and other family members during this time.

I was saddened to hear of Dick's passing. I always looked up to Dick as both the man, and operator that he was. Dick was not a man of many words but I learned a lot by just being around him and when he did speak I listened. I was honoured and proud to wear the communal sweater he shared with us.
My deepest sympathy to his family.
