Ginny was a special kind of person, so warm and enthusiastic in so many ways. Looking over the photos I have taken of her, I am struck anew by the wonderful Scrabble games we played, the birthday parties we shared with many friends, the discussions we had with an interesting group of friends. She could be casual, but loved entertaining with "real cloth" napkins and placemats (and a feast to match) - and her hand-written notes for the tiniest of kindnesses. She will continue to be an inspiration to me and many others.

My time living on Grand Manan may have been short but it seems that I have known Ginny for a lifetime.
As I look around my home here in Ontario her memory is kept alive by plants that she gave me when I left.
She is a kind, generous soul committed to making the world a better place.
It was a gift and a privilege to have shared some brief time together
with love and prayers to George and family

Dear George and Family,
our heartfelt condolences go out to you. Ginny will be missed so much. She was such a considerate and generous soul always looking for ways to help. She was my bubble sister during COVID and we enjoyed so much saying prayers together several mornings each week. Ginny (and George) were so much a part of the elevated conversation group. We felt so close to her and so we feel a great loss. I know her soul is looking down figuring out who to help.
"In prayer there is a mingling of station, a mingling of condition. Pray for them as they pray for you! (By Abdu'l-Baha)
In Loving remembrance,
Liz and Bill

A bright light went out in the universe on May 30, 2024. My beautiful sister, Ginny, left us suddenly and unexpectedly. When someone as special as my sister passes it is easy to slip into hyperbole. Should I start slinging adjectives to try to define her spirit? No. For all who knew Ginny, her spirit was obvious by everything she did.
We lost our dad were young and Ginny stepped in to a caregiver role which she never abandoned. When our mother had to go to work full time Ginny became our surrogate guardian. She ran interference between me and mom and always saw more in me than there actually was. It was her way to see the good and overlook the bad sometimes to her own detriment.
Ginny knew tragedy. She lost her son, Billy, an event that would send anyone into a downward spiral. But Ginny carried on not assessing blame but accepting life's reality.
Ginny was a joy to know and a treasure to cherish. She is gone now, and my world is a darker place. She was as pure a spirit as I've ever known or expect to encounter again.
Although I am a sceptic, as she knew, if there is something or somewhere beyond this life, she has a place of honor there.
There is a hole in the world exactly her size, but the edges are blurred by the tears in my eyes.
Good-bye Ginny, you were the best.

When I think of Ginny, there is so much to say.
Love, Kindness and Joy come to mind.
Compassion, Intelligence and Strength also describe her as a person.
Ginny exuded these attributes and more...I am fortunate to remember her as a friend, the sister I never had and a confidant.
We both loved gardening, sewing and other crafts. I taught her how to make soap and she inspired me to grow a tea garden. I loved her homemade tea, and her Nag Champa soap was her brother's favorite. She never visited us without bringing us some of each.
Ginny was an excellent listener. Sometimes when Ginny and George stayed at our home on trips from New Brunswick to US destinations, she and I would talk in our pajamas on the guest beds like teenagers. Many times, she and I prayed together. Other times, we would watch goofy British or Canadian comedy after dinner and laugh so hard. I felt sorry for George because we kept changing out TV providers, and he had to relearn how to use our remotes to find his hockey and other shows ---Sorry George, you were a good sport about it!
After my mother moved to our area in NY a few years ago, we would get together at our house with Ginny and George. My mom and Ginny became fast friends. My mom asked that I tell everyone how very thoughtful Ginny was to her.
I will always remember Ginny as a remarkable woman, she will remain with me in spirit forever.

I'll miss you very much Aunt Ginny. Thank you for teaching me how to tie my shoes, when all those crazy right handed people were doing it backwards.

My love for flannel sheets and melted cheese on tortillas chips came from Virginia. I will always cherish our meaningful conversations after student teaching. One of favorite memories was when my mother Gail and her stood there watching minke whales at the southern point of Grand Manan Island at sunset. Virginia was my mother's best friend in the entire world and it was so beautiful to see them together. My mother even named my youngest sister after Virginia. She was my strength when my mother passed. I love her so much!!! She was always there for me. I will greatly miss.
