Obituary of Austin S. Sode

SODE  AUSTIN  -  The family of the late Austin (Toby) Sode) wish to announce his peaceful passing on June 20th, 2023 at the Charlotte County Hospital after a brief period of failing health. He was born on November 14, 1932 in New Ross Nova Scotia, the son of Side Sode & Margaret (Armstrong).

        He will be happily remembered by his wife of nearly 64 years Lois (nee Boone) and his family Elaine Sode - Parlee (Stephen), Jeffrey Sode (Monica), David Sode (Sharon), Leisha Morecraft (Barrie), Mike Sode (Lynn), grandchildren, Corinne, Trevor, Trina, Daniel, Matthew, Jenna, Amber, Tracy, Shane and Aaryn and 9 great grandchildren.

       He was predeceased by 2 sisters, 3 half brothers, 8 half sisters and 1 grandson Greg.

   Toby was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

     A funeral service in celebration of Toby’s life will be held on Wednesday July 5th, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street St. Stephen, NB, E3L 2B2 (506 – 466 – 3110). A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home reception centre.

The family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

     In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Toby can be made to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or Brockway Cemetery Fund.
