Eleanor Hotchkies posted a condolence
Thursday, June 29, 2023
From Eleanor, (nee Caldwell) cousin of Zena and Barry Hotchkies.
Back in August 1968, just married, we emigrated to Montreal Barry with a position with Canadian Pacific. Zena and Pat were very kind and considerate to us being new immigrants and just off the boat. Zena arranged to have a young couple show us some areas to rent an apartment in Montreal. We eventually found one but had no furniture to equip the apartment. Zena and Pat allowed us to shop at Pat's store Great Universal Stores on credit as we had no money or credit to speak of back then. We were often invited for dinner many times and especially at Christmas. We have fond memories of Zena and Pat and are forever grateful to them for helping us start life in a new country. We are now settled in San Francisco are have two children, Blair and Lindsey and five grandchildren.

To Jane,George, Nathania,Jordan and families.
What a wonderful life that you have shared with your Mum, Grandmother, and Great Gran. She always was so genuine, giving of her time and talents, and keenly interested about those in her presence. I can hear her Scottish accent!! My hope for you, is that you will cherish the many happy times and memories of her and also will have a great celebration with family now as you say your goodbyes. Our condolances.
