Obituary of Dorothy Denley

Denley, Dorothy “Dot” Bernice, 92 … passed away peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2011 at the Charlotte County Hospital. Born in Lynnfield, NB on August 30, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Hazen E. and Pearl A. (Weeks) Way. She was a former employee of the Ganong Candy Factory and worked in the bakery of the Save Easy. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Milltown Legion and past vice-president of the Salmon Falls Senior Citizens. Dot loved to attend card parties, playing 45’s and 63, knitting, reading and cooking. Besides her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. Denley; two sons, H. Wayne Denley and Darryl D. Denley; three brothers, Earle, Hedley and Raymond Way. She is survived by two daughters, Norma Van Devander of Calais, ME and Reva Munn (Larry) of Weston, FL; a son, Richard (Joan) of Old Ridge, NB; five grandsons, Michael (Laurie)McVay of St. Stephen , Danny (Caroline) McVay of Heathland; Rick (Sue) Violette of Fairfield, CA, Robert (Tracy) Violette of Bristol, CT, Eric Denley (Jessica) of Old Ridge; four granddaughters, Tanya (Bill) Gibson of Woodland, ME, Stacy Sprague of Old Ridge and Gail Denley of St. Stephen and Melanie (Patrick) Wood of Sparks, NV; several great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews. Arrangements are under the care of Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB (506) 466-3110. At Dorothy’s request there will be no visitation, a Memorial Service will be held from Humphreys Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 2:00pm. Interment will be in Moores Mills Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Luxor Temple Shriners Transportation Fund or any charity of your choice. www.humphreysfh.com
