Obituary of Dora Louise Matheson

MATHESON, DORA LOUISE (nee Matthews) - passed away at home April 17th,2011,surrounded by family and friends. Dora was born October 21,1939 on Campobello Island,the second child of Burnham and Alvena(Newman)Matthews. She married William(Bill)Matheson and together the became the very proud parents of four much loved sons: Donnie, Randy,Ronnie and Rick. She was a life – long lover of music and enjoyed playing guitar and piano. Her lovely alto voice could be heard leading many a campfire sing along over the years. Along with her husband, she enjoyed camping,hunting and frequent visits to the camp at Flume Ridge. Dora’s gracious spirit ensured that her family and friends always knew how much she loved them and welcomed their company. While she is greatly missed here, there is surely much music and celebration in Heaven,now that she has been reunited with her beloved husband Bill, and son Ronnie, both of whom she has sorely missed since their passing. She is survived by three sons, Donnie(Laurel) and Randy(Gerry), both of Campobello Island,and Rick of Saint John; her siblings Donnie Matthews of Campobello Island, Betty Cline of Fredericton, Burnham Matthews of Campobello Island and Larry Matthews of Dennysville; grandchildren Christa Matheson and Jeffrey Matheson; great grandchildren Cali Marie and Wyatt Ronnie Matheson; and several nieces and nephews. She will be missed by everyone who knew her and will be especially missed by her dear friend Judy Alexander and all of her friends from the camp. A memorial service will be held at the Wilsons’ Beach United Baptist Church on Friday, April 22nd, 2011 at 3:00 pm.
