Obituary of Leo Edward Andrews

ANDREWS, LEO E. - At the Charlotte County Hospital on Friday, March 4th, 2011; Leo Edward “Andy” Andrews of St. Andrews, NB, husband of the late Freda Jeanette (Tewksbury) Andrews. Born in Princeton Maine, USA he is the son of the late Harley C. and Elmira (Decker) Andrews. Leo served as a US Marine in World War II engaging in several battles through out the pacific; he served and was the youngest Master Sergent in the US Airforce, he was stationed in Maine, Massachusetts, Hawaii, California and New York. He proudly displayed his certificate confirming that he broke the sound barrier in a F100 while flying with Chuck Yeager. He recieved a Business Degree from Husson College. In 1966 he retired from the Airforce and moved to St. Andrews. Leo is survived by twin sons James (Margaret) of Punta Gorda, Florida, Jerome (Jennie) of Deer Island daughters, Denise King (Jim) and Gaye Cail (Jim) all of Fredericton, NB, son David Chapin (Eileen) of Whitby, Ont, 10 grandchildren Cliff, Andre, Kristen, Jason, Angela, Sherry, Mark, Adrienne, Trish and Adele, several great grandchildren, one brother Merle of Princeton, Maine, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Leo was predeceased by his wife Freda (2004) and several brothers and sisters. By Leo’s request there will be no visitation however friends are invited to attend a memorial service in celebration of his life to be held on Saturday, March 12th, 2011 at 1:00 pm at All Saints Anglican Church, 77 King Street, St Andrews, NB. Canon John Matheson officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the church hall.
