Obituary of Theodore A. Calder

CALDER, THEODORE A. - Peacefully, in the presence of his family passed away at the Charlotte County Hospital, on Wednesday, February 9th, 2011; Teddy Calder, husband of Marie (Graham) Calder of Welshpool, Campobello, NB. Born in Campobello he is the son of the late Russell Alphonso & Vivian Linnea (McGowan) Calder. Teddy and Marie had resided in Ontario for a period of time so he worked for the Canadian Railway as a Brakeman. Returning to Campobello, he was employed with Canada Customs stationed in Campobello for approximately 18 years, retiring in the mid 1970’s. He worked as a commercial fisherman in and around Campobello also ran boats for the Roosevelt family. Teddy was a well known carpenter to many people. He had a hand in many a house. Teddy also pastored as a clergy for many years in churches in Cantebury, Four City, Green Mountain and Eel River Lake, NB. Teddy had a real passion for horses and the outdoors. Surviving in addition to his wife Marie are his 2 sons Colin and Russell (Cindy) all of Campobello, 5 daughters, Beth Mahoney (Stephen) of Morrinville, Alberta, Joanne Hicks Sr (Reginald) of East Machias, Maine, Cathy Moores (Jerome) of Dexter Maine, Marianne Breault (Pierre) of Fredericton, NB and Jennifer Calder of Bangor Maine, 1 sister Vera Calder of Campobello, 8 grandchildren Reggie Jr, Jason, Elyse, Matthew, Kristian, Dustin, Justin, Adam, 2 step grandchildren Tina and Amanda, 11 great grandchildren. Teddy was predeceased by 1 son Theodore Russell, 1 grandson Jeffrey, 2 brothers Clayton and Bernard. Resting at North Road Baptist Church, Welshpool, Campobello, NB from where the service will be held on Sunday, February 13th, 2011 at 2:00 pm. The interment will follow in North Road Cemetery followed by a reception in the church hall. The family will receive friends at the church during a time of visitation on Saturday from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm .
