Obituary of Arthur James Gillan
GILLAN, ARTHUR J. … at the Charlotte County Hospital on Tuesday,November 16th,2010; Arthur J. Gillan of Oak Haven,NB,husband of Arlene(Hooper)Gillan. Born in Victoria BC he is the son of the late Charles & Margaret(Price)Gillan. Arthur lived most of his life in BC. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved canoeing. He was a member of the Provincial Lapidary Association of BC. Rock collecting and jewelry making from those rocks was a very big passion of his. Arthur also loved riding his Harley Davidson and over the years was involved with several motorcycle fundraisers for children. Surviving in addition to his wife Arlene are his son Jim of St Stephen, brother Norman of Vancouver, BC, sister Lillian Dyer of Victoria,BC. He was predeceased by 3 sisters, Dora, Grace and Ruth and 1 brother Raymond. By Arthur’s request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at his residence (69 Young Lane Oak Haven, NB) on Wednesday, November 24th,2010, Rev. Garth Williams,officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence that day from 2:00 pm … 5:00 pm. Donations to the Charlotte County Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family.
