Obituary of Douglas Franklin Wiley
WILEY, DOUGLAS F.. - At the Charlotte County Hospital on Monday, April 26th, 2010; Douglas Franklin Wiley of Oak Bay, NB, husband of the late Joyce Lillian Hartt Chase. Born in Chamcook, NB he is the son of the late Millidge & Genevieve (Craig) Wiley. A veteran of World War 2 Doug served with Royal Canadian Navy. He was a proud veteran and member of the Royal Canadian Legion St. Croix Branch # 9 St. Stephen, NB and the Sackville RCL in which he served several years as their Treasurer. Doug was a great lover of the outdoors in fishing and sports. Doug is survived by his son Gary (Donna) of Oak Bay, NB, 2 daughters, Janet Little(Michael) of Halifax, NS and Beth Coleman and her boyfriend Ian of Ontario, 6 grandchildren, Laura, Keltie, Matthew, Emily, Krissy, and Josh., 5 great grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson Jason, and 3 brothers Marvin, Sheldon and Lowell. By Doug’s request there will ne no visitation or service. Cremation will take place followed by a private family ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to any branch of the Royal Canadian Legion or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
