Obituary of Violet Arlene Cotter

The death of Violet Arlene (Perkins) Cotter, formerly of Milltown, NB, wife of the late Guy D. Cotter, occurred at the Passamaquoddy Lodge on Thursday, November 19th, 2009. Vi was born in Cooper Maine on December 2, 1917, the daughter of the late Lizzie (Morton) and Hubert C. Perkins. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband and her brother Donald I. Perkins. Vi valued her family first. She will be lovingly remembered by two sons, Terrance (Elizabeth) of Hampton and Richard (Suzanne) of Fredericton; three grandchildren Bronwyn (Andreas) of Montreal, Jeffrey (Michaela) of Australia and Andrew of Fredericton; two great grandchildren India and Zai; sister in law Helena McKay; her niece, nephews and their families. Vi loved her friends on both sides of the border, her neighbours, her church and her community. She had a special place in her heart for her cottage at Cathance Lake in Cooper Maine. She was a member of the Milltown United Church and the St. Croix Golf and Country Club. She was a long time employee of W.T. Grant in Calais Maine where she fostered many friendships. The funeral service will be held at the Milltown United Church on Tuesday, November 24 at 11 am with Rev. Ali Smith officiating. A reception and visitation will be held in the church hall following the service. For those who wish, memorial tributes may be made to the Milltown United Church Building Fund.
