Obituary of Mary E. Russell
Russell, Mary E. – Mary Elizabeth (McConvey) Russell of St. Stephen, NB, passed away on Friday, March 27th, 2009 at the St. Stephen Seniors Residence in Old Ridge, NB. Born in St. Stephen in 1915, she was the daughter of the late George & Norma Mae Smith McConvey. Mary is survived by her son, Dr. Bill Russell and wife Connie of Windsor, Ontario, one sister Lois Puig of St. Stephen, her 3 grandchildren Monica Stanton, Rod Russell and Jeff Russell and 6 great-children. Also survived by nieces Sherrie Hill, Arlene Parks and Myrna McConvey and nephew Ken McConvey. She was predeceased by sisters Grace, Glenna and Millie and brothers Walter, John and George. Mary was employed with Ganong Brothers for many years and her sense of humour brought joy to many of her co-workers. Mary was involved with the St. Stephen chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star for many years and worked her way up to Worthy Matron. Resting at Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB (506 – 466 – 3110) from where the service will be held in the chapel on Monday, March,30, 2009 at 2:00 pm. The interment will follow in St. Stephen Rural Cemetery, followed by a reception in the Humphreys Community Room and Reception Centre. The family will receive friends and relatives during a time of visitation at the funeral home on Sunday, March 29, 2009 from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm. An Eastern Star tribute service will be conducted from the funeral home on Sunday evening at 6:45 pm by the Order of the Eastern Star St. Stephen Branch # 18.
