Obituary of Joseph Albert Dever
Dever, Joseph Albert … The death of Joseph Albert Dever of Bayside, NB, husband of Edna (Williams - Ackroyed) Dever, occurred on Monday, July 28, 2008 at the Charlotte County Hospital. Born in St. Stephen on March 21, 1915 he was a son of the late Frederick and Gertrude (Densmore) Dever. Joe had been employed as a gardener at the Cotton Mill in St. Andrews. Survived by his wife, two children, Paula (David) George of Bucksport, Maine, and Geraldine (William) Phillips of Ontario; one brother, Harry Dever of Milltown, NB; five step-children, Bonita (Dennis) Murray-Weir of Riverview, NB, Barbara (Daniel) Saunders of Westfield, NB, Brenda (Keith) Johnson of Carters Point, NB, Richard (Angela) Ackroyed and Byron (Doreen) Ackroyed, both of Saint John, NB; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife, Frances; two sisters, Mildred Beausoliel and Dorothy Polk; a son, Frederick in 2006. Arrangements are under the care of Humphreys Select Community Funeral Home, St. Stephen, NB (506) 466-3110. At Joe’s request there will not be any visiting at the funeral home. A Memorial Mass was celebrated from St. Andrews Church, St. Andrews, NB on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 11 am followed by interment in St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation or any charity of choice.
