Obituary of Jean Maitland Logan

Jean M. Logan … after a very brief illness, Jean Logan of St. Andrews, NB, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional hospital on Thursday, February 28, 2008. Beloved mother of Jonathan Logan (Brenda) of St. Andrews, NB and Nancy Keizer (James) of Cambridge, ON. Very proud Grandmother of Kathryn (Katie) Logan, Paul Logan, and Emma Keizer. Loving sister to Bertram Miller (Joan) and Barbara McIntyre (Sterling-deceased) both of St. Martins, NB. Born on February 11, 1923, to the late Erroll and Arvilla Belle (Osborne) Miller of St. Martins. Predeceased by her husband, D. Paul Logan in 1966. Mom lead a very active, happy, and positive life and will be remembered for her strength, vibrancy, wisdom, tenacity, graciousness, unselfishness, support, caring ways, and unconditional love of life, animals and family. Jean was a pillar of the St. Andrews community for 47 years, actively involved in many organizations: Starting shortly after the death of her husband in 1966, she was the first Executive Secretary of Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Centre and one of its biggest promoters in its early years. In 1975 she became the Revenue Officer for the Provincial Government Tax and Motor Vehicle office in St. Andrews until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of the Music, Art and Drama Club, Canadian Club, Heather Curling Club, Senior Ladies International Curling Club (SLICC), Girl Guide Association, Order of the Eastern Star, All Saints Anglican Church Vestry, Passamaquoddy Lodge Inc. Board of Directors and Trust Fund Board serving as Secretary Treasurer. She was also past president of both the All Saints Anglican Church ACW and the Charlotte County Hospital Auxiliary. She was a long serving member of School District #23 School Board and School Trustees Association serving on the Provincial Executive Committee. Relatives and friends are invited to All Saints Anglican Church for visitation on Saturday, March 1st and Sunday, March 2nd from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 3rd from All Saints Anglican Church, 77 King St., St. Andrews at 2 pm. Reception will follow in the church hall. A special Memorial and Interment service will take place at Mosher Hill Cemetery, St. Martins in the spring. Remembrances to the NB Neart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Trinity Anglican Church, St. Martins or Passamaquoddy Lodge would be appreciated by the family.
