Obituary of Genevieve McGarrity

McGarrity, Genevieve M. - At the Charlotte County Hospital; on Sunday, December 30th, 2007, Genevieve Monica “Teenie” McGarrity of St. Stephen, NB. Born in St. Stephen, NB she is the daughter of the late Philip and Genevieve McGarrity. Teenie was a member of Holy Rosary Church, St. Stephen. She received an early education in St. Stephen, graduated from Mt. Carmel in Saint John. She returned back to St. Stephen to receive her education with the Holy Rosary Convent Business School. She worked with CPR most of her life and served a brief period with the Biological Station in St. Andrews. In her later years she worked with the Dept. of Health and Community Services as a secretary until retirement. Teenie enjoyed skating until just a few years ago, golfing and always loved a good Agatha Christie murder mystery. She is survived by her brothers Allen of Riverview, NB, Rev. Fr. Richard McGarrity of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, sister Margaret of St. Stephen, NB, sister in law Aurette MacGarrity of Sarnia, Ont, Joan McGarrity of Oakville, Ont, brother in law Bill Brenan of Saint John, NB. She was predeceased by her step brother Bill Casey, brothers Philip, Jerome and Maurice and a sister Patricia Brenan, several nieces and nephews. Resting at 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB from where the visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2 … 4 and 7 … 9 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January, 3rd, 2008 at 11:00 am at Holy Rosary Church. The interment will follow in Milltown Catholic Cemetery followed by a reception at the Holy Rosary Church Hall. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Charlotte County Food Bank or the Milltown Catholic Cemetery would be appreciated by the famiy.
