Obituary of Douglas Richard Fitzgerald
The death of Douglas Richard Fitzgerald of Waweig, New Brunswick, occurred peacefully at his residence on Thursday, November 2, 2006. Born February 24, 1939 in Glassville, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late Gerald and Helen (Rideout) Fitzgerald. He was a graduate of Rothesay Collegiate School and was a long standing member of the IBEW Local 502. An avid horseman, he was well known for his saddle horses and trail rides in Waweig. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Mills; daughter, Roberta McConvey of Saint John; son, Richard Dippel of Denver, Colorado; chosen daughter, Sgt. Amanda McConvey of Fort Bragg, North Carolina; sisters, Linda Studier of Brantford, Ontario and Doris Cowham of Watford, England; granddaughters, Jessica Lynn Dippel and Lupita Anne McGraw-McConvey; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2 pm on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 from the MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dean Annis officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Glassville Cemetery. For those who wish, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
