Obituary of Pauline Marion Jamieson

Jamieson, Pauline (Peggy) Marion - Peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, on May 20, 2003, of complications following surgery, surrounded by her loving children. Peggy was born in Waterville, NB, to the late Harry and Dora (Rogers) Lipsett, and grew up in Hartland. She was married to the late Lloyd E. Jamieson and spent her married life in Campbellton and Fredericton. Peggy is survived by three children: Gordon and his wife, Dianne, of Simcoe, ON., and their children, Randy and Steven (Teresa); Susan MacLeod and her husband, William, of Fredericton, and their children, Dr. Andrew MacLeod (Dr. Alison Rideout) and Sarah (Capt. Stephen) Strickey; and Dr. Janet Jamieson and her husband Michael Asch, of North Vancouver, BC., and their children, Daniel and Jordan. She was predeceased by a son, Ronald, who died in 1958. She derived great joy from her three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Ryan and Gabriela. Peggy is also survived by two sisters, Mona Clark and Elizabeth (Betty) Boyd, both of Woodstock, and was predeceased by her sister, Mildred Lanyon, formerly of Hartland. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews as well as her dear friend Mildred Harvey. Peggy was a long time and dedicated member of Wilmot United Church, where she was active in the United Church Women and Seniors Group, and also served as church secretary for a time. She worked for many years as a legal secretary in both private and government sectors. Peggy maintained a vibrant interest in politics and had a keen appreciation of the written word. She had lived at her home in Sunshine Gardens for over 40 years and enjoyed the friendship and support of her neighbours. Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 22, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at McAdam's Select Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton. A service to celebrate Peggy's life will be held at Wilmot United Church on Friday, May 23, at 2:00 pm with the Reverend Isabel Black officiating and interment immediately following at Fredericton Rural Cemetery Extension. A reception will follow at Wilmot Church Hall. Remembrances made to the Wilmot United Church Memorial Fund or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
