Sincere condolences to Shirley's family. Shirley was part of my journey to ministry in the United Church. She represented St. Croix Presbytery on the many stages of the process, sitting on interviews and offering encouragement. I am grateful for her presence, kindness and encouragement. She was a tireless worker for her church.

We will miss Shirley’s smile and sense of humour. We so enjoyed working with her on the committee for our Syrian family. She was also an important part of many church meetings and of course a welcoming person at the civic centre wellness program. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

So sorry to hear this news. I knew Shirley through church circles. I always appreciated her strong and gentle presence , her wisdom , her passion for justice , and care for the vulnerable and marginalised . It was a joy to work with her and share conversation with her. From what I saw, she lived a full and wonderful and joyful life - challenges such as cancer notwithstanding- and made an impact on this community which won’t be forgotten . I, am better for having known her . We will miss her indeed. I’m sorry I can’t attend the service tomorrow . Holding all her family and friends in Love and Light , as you release her into the Mystery beyond , while continuing to cherish many special memories.

It seems since I've know Shirley, since back in the day I got to be a "Caldwell Girl"for a few months, she did everything with style and grace. Right to the end that didn't falter. Her biggest concern was that her family would be ok without her, and because of how she prepared them....they will.Gone in body but never in spirit, she lives on in all who loved her.Love and light to you all Crystal, as you celebrate the well lived life, of this wonderful spirited lady.

Shirley and I got to know each when we attended a United Church conference on Right Relations in Tatamagouche many years ago. We were roommates and during our first night we sat up, chatted and giggled like we were in high school. After that, we also met up on the curling sheet from time to time. She always had a big smile and was a class act. There’s none too many as good as Shirley. She was a real pet, I love her to bits. She will truly be missed.
Love and hugs,
Barb. XOXOXO

Always looked forward to a haircut from cousin, Shirley. We'd get caught up on all the cousins (and there are many)... who's home this summer, have you heard from so-and-so, what's happening in the world? If the CBC was playing in the background, we'd exchange some opinions on whatever they were discussing, as well. She was just a lovely person to know. Sending condolences to Crystal, Allan & their family; and all the Caldwell clan.

was shocked to learn the passing of Shirley. We were in High School together, and became friends, we used to go bowling in Calais together on Sat. nights or to a movie. Remember going to her wedding, and reception. Lost contack but when we would see each other always stopped to talk. She was a wonderful person with a heart of gold. Our Condolences to the family.4gnce
