Obituary of William W. Russell
RUSSELL WILLIAM SR. – at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, October 8th, 2013, William Wallace Russell Sr, husband of Hattie Russell of St. Stephen, NB. Born in Deep Cove Grand Manan, NB, he is the son of the late Henry B. & Abbigail (Nickerson) Russell. For many years Willy was a self - employed farmer who loved working in the woods. He was a veteran of World War 2 serving as a Trooper with the British Columbian 4th Regiment Gunnery Crew. Surviving in addition to his wife Hattie are his daughters Marjorie McLaughlin of Saint John, NB, Ellen(Beverly) Davis, sons Bill (Doreen) Russell , and Douglas (Sandi) Russell all of St. Stephen, NB, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, several step children, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Willy was predeceased by 2 brothers Judson & Eldon and 2 sisters, Eva Russell and Helena Wilcox, 2 grandsons Stephen Russell and Duane Reid and his first son William. Resting at Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB E3L 2B2 (506 – 466 – 3110) from where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday,October 11th, 2013 at 2:00 pm. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home reception centre followed by the interment in Bocabec Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Charlotte County Cancer Society or Bocabec Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
