Obituary of Earl Leigh Barker

Earl Leigh Barker of St. Stephen, husband of Mary H. Barker, died on Monday, December 23, 2019 at the Charlotte County Hospital. Born at Carlingford, Victoria County, he was a son of the late Earl and Edna (Smith) Barker. Earl was employed for 4 years with the CPR, and then the next 33 years with Flakeboard. He was a member of the Old Ridge Pentecostal Church, and enjoyed collecting model trains and building things. In addition to Mary, Earl is survived by his children, John Barker of St. Stephen and Katrina Barker-Pater (Tim) of Kingston, Ontario; a granddaughter, Harper Mai Dianne; sisters Peggy Scott (Gordon) of Peabody, Mass., and Shirley Cleghorn of Oak Bay; and several nieces and nephews. Earl was born into a large family. Earl is predeceased by his first wife Dianne and several siblings. Visitation will take place at Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, on Sunday, December 29, 2019 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, immediately followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM from Humphrey’s Funeral Home Chapel.
