Obituary of Michael Henderson

Obituary for Michael Henderson Henderson, Michael James. January 18, 1946 - November 24, 2019. Michael wanted to remain at his home for the final stage of his life and succeeded in so doing. He died at the home he built in St Andrews on November 24, 2019 with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife Wendy (Burnett), son Cory, daughter-in-law Elizabeth, granddaughters Sydney, Brooke and Olive and cousin Mary (Henderson) Madill. Michael started work as a carpenter, moving on to Lake Utopia Paper as an operator then superintendent of the pulp mill. After retiring he really started having fun contracting building projects including serving as chair of the Fundy Discovery Aquarium at Huntsman. He loved the game of golf and served as director of the Algonquin Golf Club and as a board member of the NB Golf Association. A highlight of his day often was spending time with his son either in his home office or the Hendershop. Eventually he was blessed with a daughter-in-law and granddaughters with whom he cherished every moment. Most of all Michael loved spending time with his wife. He also had more good friends than any man deserves. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Saturday, November 30th, 2019 at Humphrey’s Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St Stephen, NB from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The family would like to thank everyone at the St Andrews Health Center and the Extra-Mural nurses who cared for Michael. Their support was outstanding.
