Obituary of Cecelia Jackson

Campobello Island – Cecelia went home to be with her Lord on November 4, 2019. She was born July 9, 1928, in North Road, Campobello, to the late Stanley L. and Ada M. (Parker) Mitchell. She was predeceased by her husband Keith on July 11, 2012, after more than 64 years of marriage, and by her sister Verna Newman. Cecelia and Keith owned and operated “Keith’s Store" in Wilson’s Beach where they worked side-by-side for more than 40 years until their retirement. Cecelia gave her heart to the Lord at the age of twelve and served Him faithfully for the rest of her life. She was a longtime member of Wilson’s Beach United Baptist Church where she served as a youth group leader and Sunday School teacher for many years. Cecelia and Keith enjoyed their ministry as Gideons. Cecelia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family. Surviving are her children, Jeffrey Jackson (Charlene) of Hampden, Maine, Paulette Blue (Dan) of Orrington, Maine, and Susan Laslie (John) of Orland, Maine; five grandchildren, Ben Jackson (Cara), Seth Jackson, Michelle Bean (Chad), Amy Mattson (Matthew) and Andrew Laslie (Tonya); nine great grandchildren; Reese and Macie Jackson, Mia and Tyler Bean, Maxwell, Caden and Julie Mattson, Addison and Kallen Laslie; brother Stanley Mitchell (Mary) of Campobello, sister-in-law Margie (Sissy) Newman of Campobello, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visiting hours will be held at the Wilson's Beach United Baptist Church on Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, (Canadian Time), and will be followed by the service at 1:00 PM officiated by Rev. Daniel Jamer. Interment will be at the Wilson's Beach Community Cemetery, Head Harbor Road, Campobello Island, NB. A reception will immediately follow the burial back at the church. In lieu of flowers donations to the Wilsons Beach Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
