Obituary of Ronald L. Johnson

JOHNSON RONALD L. … At the Charlotte County Hospital on Saturday, February 2nd, 2019; Ronald Lloyd Johnson, husband of Alice (Gillis) Johnson of Waweig,NB. Born in Charlotte County, NB; he is the son of the late Donald & Vera (Boddy) Johnson. For many years Ron worked with, owned and ran service stations in St. Andrews, school bus driver and retired from the Biological Station. He enjoyed time with his family, and daily walks with Alice; most times more than one a day. After retirement he and Alice moved to their summer home in Waweig, where they enjoyed many years together. Ron had a tremendous passion for raising horses for many years. Surviving in addition to his wife Alice are his children, son Jeff (Mary Beth) of St. Andrews, NB, granddaughter Jessica Johnson and her partner Zac Sommerville of Hampton, NB, granddaughter Samantha Benson (Derrick Lee) of Alberta, grandson Tyler Benson of Whitehorse, Yukon Territory and great grandson Damien Lee of Alberta, nephews Chris & Greg Johnson both of Saint John, NB. Ron was predeceased by his daughter Heather Benson, brother Raymond & his wife Eleanor McAleenan. A funeral service in celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Thursday, February 7th, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB E3L 2B2. Archdeacon John Matheson officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home reception centre. The interment will take place at a later date in Bocabec Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Bocabec Cemetery or charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
