Obituary of Harley Matthews
MATTHEWS HARLEY …at the Charlotte County Hospital on Sunday, June 10th, 2018. Harley Edwin Matthews passed away. Harley was born on April 2, 1945 on Campobello Island to James Abraham and Margaret Leona (Goodeill) Matthews. Harley live all his life on Campobello Island. He worked for Connors Bros. at the H.W. Welch Factory as well as the Island’s Department of Transportation. Harley enjoyed bowling, playing pool and camping with his sons. Harley is survived by his sons Darrell Edwin of Wilson’s Beach, NB and David James of Eastport Maine, U.S.A. one brother Glenn also of Wilson’s Beach, NB, several nieces nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his four sisters Elva Jane Matthews, Lorena H. Mitchell and her husband Glenn, Edna M. Buchanan and her husband Neil and Eloise C. Matthews an her husband Harvey. Resting at the Pentecostal church in Wilson’s Beach from where the family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Wednesday from 7 … 9 pm. A memorial graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 14th , 2018 at 2:00 pm at Wilson’s Beach Cemetery, Head Harbour Road. Pastor Randy Harris officiating. A reception will follow an Edith Lank Camp. In lieu of flowers donations to the Living Memorial Program would be appreciated by the family.
