Obituary of Allen R. Lyons
Lyons, Allen- Passed away peacefully at the Passamaquoddy Lodge in St. Andrews N.B. on the 5th of April 2018; husband of Marjorie Lyons (Morehouse) of St. Andrews, N.B. Born in Storeytown, N.B., he was the son of Astley and Helen (Ward) Lyons. Allen grew up in Doaktown N.B. when after graduation was briefly employed with the New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources. In 1964 he moved to Gagnon Quebec where he was employed with DuPont Canada prior to being transferred to Bathurst N.B. as explosives plant manager where he remained until his retirement. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, spending time with friends and family and had a strong love of animals. Allen was a member of the St. George’s Anglican church in Bathurst NB and is survived by his wife of 53 years Marjorie (Morehouse) St. Andrews, NB, son Troy Lyons (Susy Lanteigne) Oak Bay NB, mother Helen (Ward) Lyons and sister Rowena Braysford (Steve) St. Stephen N.B. as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and is pre deceased by his father (Astley) and son Johnnie. The funeral service in celebration of Allen’s life will be held at Humphrey’s Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB on Tuesday, April 10th at 2:00 pm. Archdeacon John Matheson officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home reception centre. A brief service will held at a later date at the community cemetery in South Tetagouche N.B. For those who wish, charitable contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, the SPCA or charity of choice. On line condolences or donations can be made at www.humphreysfh.com
