Obituary of Barbara Hawkins

The passing of Barbara (Price) Hawkins occurred peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 17, 2025 at the age of 94.

Barbara was born in Moncton and was a graduate of Toronto General School of Nursing, Queen’s University, and the University of Virginia. Each era of Barbara’s long life provided unique challenges and joys. Barbara married Roger Burton Hawkins, and they shared the joys of early family life, raising their three children Jeffrey Burton, Ann (Hawkins) Jones, and Roger Andrew, of whom they were extremely proud.

Retirement in St. Andrews and South Carolina and the delight of their four grandchildren Kathryn (Jones) Volk, Jeffrey Hawkins, William Jones and Margaret Hawkins were the capstones of their years together, until Roger’s death in 2019. Nieces, nephews and friendships in both Hilton Head and St. Andrews continued to enrich Barbara’s life.

At Barbara’s request, there will be no service at this time. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at a later date.
