Our condolences goes out to the entire Matheson family. Jim brings out fond memories or our days at SSHS and the many times I had the pleasure of visiting with his mother and father on Little Ridge. Jim was a much loved and respected teacher by his students and colleagues. We will not be able to attend the service in Fredericton but out thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Our condolences to the entire family of our dear colleague and friend ‘Jim’ . There are so many memories that came back to us from his days at SSHS : from the conversations in the second floor staff room to the times he was living in our Neighbourhood. Jim always had a dry, humorous reflection that would inspire more to join in on the quick witted banter. His love of his daughters was evident too. May the support of one another, your memories, and faith provide comfort. We regret that we are unable to travel to deliver these words in person. Affectionately, Lynda and Herb

I was very surprised, and saddened, today, to learn of Mr. Matheson's passing. When we entered St. Stephen Junior High, in Grade 7...he was the Principal. I remember being sent to see him, for talking in Science Class. Two years later, in 1974-75...he was our Grade 9 (M2) Homeroom, and Social Studies, Teacher. He always maintained control of his classroom....despite his quiet personality, and was an excellent Teacher. Many good memories of being in his class.....one of my favorite Teachers, throughout my School Years. I had the pleasure of talking with 'Jim' a couple of times, in the years since then....for which I am very happy now. Sending my deepest condolences to his three daughters, their families, and all his close friends, on their sad loss.
R.I.P. Mr. Matheson...You touched many lives with your own...
