Obituary of Carl Hartley Savage
Carl Hartley Savage of Campobello, passed away at Saint John Regional Hospital on August 13, 2024 after an extended stay due to health complications. He was born in Lubec, Maine on October 8th, 1940 to Hartley & Nellie (Galen) Savage.
Carl worked his entire life as a fisherman herring seining or scallop dragging. He had many boats throughout the years. He could often be found on a drive down to the breakwater, mending twine or playing cribbage and drinking coffee with friends. On the days he was hard to find, he could usually be found hiding at Dooly’s in St. Stephen.
Carl is survived by his daughter, Carla Savage and her children; Jessica Matthews Hall, Nathan Matthews (Chelsea), Faith McConnell; great-grandchildren, Breah, Kaeden, Brady, Brynn, Tate & Quinn; his significant other, Nellie Barker and her children, Larry Wayne (Ruth Ann), Danny (Barbie), David (Bobbie Jo) & one brother David Savage (Joann).
He was predeceased by his brother, Allan Savage and his parents.
At Carl’s request, there will be no visitation or service held.
