Obituary of Robert Douglas Duchesneau

Robert Douglas Duchesneau “Bob”, 77, passed away June 1, 2021, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. He was born April 25, 1944, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, son of the late Leo Claude Duchesneau and Mynia Alna (Young)Duchesneau. 

    Bob grew up in Canada and served for 5 years in the Royal Canadian Army; serving three of those years in Germany. He was discharged with the rank of Engineer. 

   Bob’s career was as a welder in metal fabrication for almost 50 years, retiring 3 days before his 72nd birthday. He married Ellis Annette Hawthorne 54 years ago. They have resided in the United States since 1969 and in Epping, NH since 1979. 

  His hobbies included hunting with his hunting dogs, fishing, taking road trips, and most importantly spending time with his family and friends. He was a current member of the Royal Canadian Legion St. Stephen Branch # 9 and a past member of the NH Coon Club, NH Bear Club and NH Rabbit Club. 

  He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. 

   In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Trevor Leo Duchesneau, a brother, Paul Duchesneau, a sister, Janet Ott, brother-in-law, James Ott, mother and father-in-law, Annie and Paul LeBlanc.  

   Bob is survived by his loving wife Ellis Annette Duchesneau, son and his wife, David Robert Duchesneau and Robin Gersten, son Matthew Thomas and Adele Duchesneau, grandsons, Jacob and Trevor Duchesneau, Todd Rich and wife Erika, great grandsons Brandon and Joshua Rich, sisters and their husbands Pauline and Frank Sadler and Rose Marie and Larry MacDonald, Sisters-in-law and her husband Marion and Kenny Young and sister-in-law Madelyn Duchesneau and many nieces and nephews. 

   Friends & family will attend a graveside service on Friday July 26th at 1:45 pm at Oak Bay Rural Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Oak Bay School house at 3:00 pm
