Obituary of Burrell Guy Brown
BROWN BURRELL G. Passed peacefully, Saturday June 1st, 2024 surrounded by his family at his residence on Campobello Island, NB. Burrell Guy Brown, born in St. Stephen, N.B, November 12th, 1953, son of the late Guy & Leota (Lomax) Brown.
Burrell worked as a fisherman all of his life and was a faithful member of the Campobello Beacon of Hope Church. In retirement, he enjoyed taking people out on whale watch tours. He also loved to travel and spend time with family, enjoying 14 cruises as well as many road trips with loved ones. Burrell always made sure to have tons of candy and ice cream on hand to spoil his grandkids with. He loved spending time with his very special aunt Joyce and reminiscing about their many adventures together. He was a wealth of knowledge, especially when it came to history, and was always happy to share stories of his travels. Burrell will always be remembered for his generosity and willingness to help anyone in need, day or night.
Burrell is survived by his wife Debbie, daughter Tracy Hardy (Darren) of Merrimack, NH and son Darren (Amanda) of Campobello Island, NB. Stepsons, Dennis Mitchell and Jason (Amanda) Mitchell. Seven grandchildren, Khalin (Simone), Kelsi (Kelton), Kailey, Sarah, Ben, Brandon and Simon. Great grandchildren, Ryker and Keenan. Four sisters, Elaine, Tammy (Bill), Laurel (Donnie), and Gail (Jim), and his very special aunt Joyce Humphrey (Lomax), a very special cousin Lynne Kelsey, his homecare nurse, who went above and beyond for the family over recent months, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Burrell was predeceased by his parents Guy and Leota (Lomax) Brown.
We would like to thank all of our family and friends who helped Burrell during these past few years. A special thanks to the Charlotte County Chemo room nurses, Alison and Theressa, who made his weekly transfusion visits as pleasant as they could be, and went above and beyond to support him during difficult times.
Thank you to the Charlotte County Emergency Room staff and Dr. Vonkeman who supported us during a very difficult night. We would also like to thank the Saint John Regional physicians, Dr. Hemmings and Dr. Tutschka, as well as the nursing staff of 4 CN who went above and beyond for our family to facilitate a quick transition to home care, granting Burrell’s final wish to be at home surrounded by his family. For this we will be forever grateful.
The family will receive friends at the church during a time of visitation immediately prior to the funeral service from 12pm-1:30 pm.
The funeral service in celebration of Burrell’s life will be held on Wednesday June 5th, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Campobello Beacon of Hope Church, Campobello Island, NB. A reception will immediately take place in the church, followed by the interment at Wilson’s Beach Community Cemetery. Pastor Dennis Seely officiating.
