Obituary of Edgar Allan Johnston

Edgar Allan of St. Andrews, New Brunswick, passed peacefully at the Charlotte County Hospital on Friday May 5, 2023.  Born in Elmsville New Brunswick on June 09, 1935, he was the son of the late Stanley and Ethel Mae (Armstrong) Johnston. He is predeceased by his wife Barbara (Bell) Johnston.

Survived by his children Stanley (Marilyn) Johnston and Ellen (Mahmoud) Johnston, grandchildren Landan, Adham, Destinee, Desmond and Karma. Will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by brother Vernon Amos Johnston.

Edgar worked for the New Brunswick Department of Transportation for 33 years. He enjoyed gardening, his daily walks around St. Andrews and watching Golf. He loved buildings things, so much so not only did he do small crafts; he helped build his families homes.

He was a proud member and volunteer for many years at the Anglican Parish of St. Andrews. He spent many years as a volunteer with the Church Boys League. Edgar was a member of the former St. Andrews Lions Club.

Cremation has taken place, friends are invited to attend a time of visitation with the family on Tuesday May 9, 2023  from  2- 4 and 6-8 pm at Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB E3L 2B2 (506 – 466 – 3110).

A  Funeral Celebration will be celebrated the following day Wednesday May 10, 2023 at 2pm in the Humphreys Funeral Home Chapel. Archdeacon John Matheson to officiate. A reception will immediately the service at the Anglican parish hall at 75 King St St. Andrews. the burial will follow the reception at St Andrews Rural Cemetery.
