Obituary of Eddie L. Johnson Jr.
JOHNSON EDDIE – At the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, January 30th, 2023; Edward “Eddie” Leroy Johnson Jr; born in St. Stephen, NB, he is the son of the late Edward Leroy Sr. & Margaret Jane (Raymond) Johnson.
Eddie worked for many years as a general labourer with Connors Bros. Eddie loved to play card & dice games with family & friends. Eddie took great joy in working on his own car. If he had extra parts, Eddie always said “Didn’t Matter!”
Eddie is survived by his common law spouse Maggie Hartford, adopted daughter Tina Cooke – Phinney (Chris) of Quispamsis, NB, his 11 siblings, Helen, Marie, Susan, Marion, Frances, Bonnie, Charles, Paul, David “Wing Nut”, Peter & Glen, 4 grand children Brandon, Samantha, Ruth Anne, and Jessica, 4 great grandchildren Rupert, Eleanor, Ethan and Harold, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Eddie was predeceased by his 2 daughters Lillian and Angel, 2 sisters Diana and Ruth, and a brother Joseph.
The family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Friday, February 3rd from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
A memorial service in celebration of Eddie’s life will be held on Saturday, February 4th, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB E3L 2B2 (506 – 466 – 3110)
A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home reception centre. The interment will take place later in the spring in Rolling Dam Cemetery.
