Obituary of Turk Brunet
BRUNET TURK - At the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, September 24th, 2022; Joseph Omer Daniel “Turk” Brunet, husband of Sandra (Tinker ) Brunet of Wilsons Beach, NB. Born in Fauquier, ON; he is the son of the late Georges & Rachel (Castonguay) Brunet.
Surviving in addition to his wife Sandra are his 2 daughters Verona Anthony (Boo) and Dorinda Davis (Richard), all of Wilsons Beach, NB, 1 son Patrick of Halifax, NS, 5 grandchildren Tyler (Samantha), Tiffany (Alex), Rachel, Kelley – Jo(Bradley), Brenna, 8 great grandchildren Bennett, Jace, Hayden, Owen, Brycen, Morgan, Olivia and Kynslee, 3 sisters Lynne Langille (Keith) , Marieanne Dorsey(Wayne), Christiane Bristow, 2 brothers John (Celine) & Vincent (Linda) all of Ontario, 2 very special Aunts, Aunt Agnes and Aunt Luce, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Turk was predeceased by his great granddaughter Raegan Lee Anthony, 2 brothers Lou & Danny.
Turk served his country for 39 years, 20 years in the RCAF as an Air Force Policeman/ Military Policeman and 19 years as a Canada Border Officer.
Turk was an active member for many years with the St. John Ambulance, as well as the Fire Dept on Campobello. He was a long time parishioner of St. Timothy’s Church, and serving on many boards. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br#83 and was also instrumental in the development, building and establishment of the Campobello Veterans Memorial. He was recently recognized at an official ceremony and given the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal.
The family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Sunday Oct 2, 2022
from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at St. Timothy’s Church Welshpool, Campobello, NB. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday October 3rd, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the church. The interment will follow in Wilson’s Beach Cemetery Head Harbour Road. A reception will follow at Edith Lank Camp.
