I was saddened to learn of the passing of Judith (Judy) Dempsey. As a youngster growing up in Milltown, N.B., I recall playing in our backyard with Judy and her siblings. May she rest in peace.

I was sorry to hear of Judy's death. She was such a kind, compassionate person and a wonderful cook. She cooked meals for my elderly mom and dad on a weekly basis for awhile and I would pick the dinners up on my way home from work and deliver to them. They always looked forward to her delicious home cooked meals.
With sympathy,
Monica Lyons

I was truly saddened to hear if the passing of my Aunt Judy. She had the kindest heart and biggest smile and a laugh that would make a sourpuss chuckle. She had time for everyone. I noticed early on that she always had time for children and always had a listening ear. That was important to young people as they often feel no adult has time for them, but she always did. Judy was generous and would give you the shirt off her back. Her gifts, big and small, were always thoughtful and meaningful.
I had moved away later in life and had not seen as much of Judy, as I had when I was small but she came recently to a family get-together at my house in Harvey and, in spite of health issues, was the same old Judy. She told one of her favourite stories of my brothers and I when we discovered her daughter Barb (or Barbie we knew her) was a girl. We were not bright kids and Barbie was a tomb-boy. We were maybe 6 and 7 and not unlike the Little Rascals. Barbie had to go somewhere nice and she came down the stairs with a dress on. Our jaws dropped as we looked at her and said she was dressed like a girl. She informed us that is because she was a girl. Judy finished the story with peels of laughter. I heard that she was not sure that she was a up to coming but I am so glad she did because she really enjoyed herself. I am so glad she came but I am so sad she is gone. Paul
