Mary was my mum’s best friend. Though it has been over 30 years since I’ve seen Mary, she’s never far from my thoughts when I think of the many visits to St Andrews. Mary was the highlight of my mum’s visits.
My sympathies to you all for your loss. God has another angel.

My sincere condolences to Mary's family. Mary was a lifelong friend of my mother's and was such a big character. I adored her! I had the great pleasure of having dinner with Mary and Mom our last visit to St. Andrews in September, where we shared some laughs and memories. I will miss seeing her and catching up with each visit 'home'. Rest in peace Mary & give Gram a hug!

Keeping all the Dowling Family in our thoughts and prayers. The Akagi Family.
Last summer, I was fortunate to enjoy a brief visit with Mary. Always, she would talk about our sister, Rose. They shared much in common - school, sports, and both helped raise their siblings. She spoke of her children and her grandies and showed me a gift she had just been given with a photo of her latest grandchild. For me, I will remember her as someone who served her hometown in so many ways - particularly when she and Nancy T. organised the school reunions that called many to a place they may not have lived in long but where their most treasured memories were made.Thank you Mary..... Dear John, Bill, Dan and your families,
Aunt Mary, to me and Jane, was and always will be, a truly cherished family member. I have so many memories of our great conversations and discussions over the years. She always had a way to get to the point and a perspective that might shed a new light on a problem that I was trying to work through. She gave great hugs and really loved all those whom she truly cared for. Along with you and so many others, we will miss her smile and her warm welcomes when we’d see each other. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Your mom will be greatly missed. With love and deepest sympathy,
Jeff, Kim and Jane Irwin

I am going to miss Mary so much - I will cherish a note she gave me at Christmas along with a lovely manicure set as a gift for being a good Avon customer. She suffered a great deal in recent months - at least we are thankful to know her suffering is over. RIP Mary - sending condolences to her sons and all the family. St. Andrews will never be the same!!

Any time I went "home" in the summer to visit my Mom, Grammie, twinnie (aka Levonne Hastey), I always managed a quick visit (coffee or lunch) with Mary. I know she has been ill and dealing with heart issues the last while and I kept praying she would get better. I guess the Universe had other plans but I am sure Mary left the world a better place for her presence in it. Mary and my Grammie - Rhoda Zwicker shared the same birthday. My mother - Ella Flagg (nee Zwicker) actually babysat the Irwins many moons ago. For some reason - probably timing - I never did meet Mary's sons and I pass on my deepest sympathies to them and their families. I found Mary to be a kind, honest and witty person. I will miss her on my visits home. God Rest Her Soul. My condolences to her family and friends.

To Mary's Family, siblings, Sons John(Gwen), Bill(Martha)l, and Danny(?), and friends; may I offer my condolences on her passing.Mary stepped up to the plate, at a young age, when there was no one else, and raised her siblings; and later her own Family. Along the way; she also managed a long career with Canada Post. As well, she was a long term member of the Town Council of St.Andrews; as well as sitting on numerous other boards. In later years, she was the Avon representative. Mary was a kind and loving person, and always put others in front of herself. She will be remembered and loved by the many, who's lives Mary touched.
