Obituary of Priscilla C. Mires
MIRES PRISCILLA C. - At Lincourt Manor in St. Stephen, NB on Sunday, November 14th, 2021; Priscilla Catherine (Groom) Mires, wife of the late Albert Mires. Born in Heathland, NB; she is the daughter of the late Lloyd & Gertrude (Campbell) Groom.
Prisclla worked for Ganongs for about 5 years; then worked for a variety store in town. Priscilla absolutely loved the outdoors. To prepare for winter she looked forward to piling her own fire wood to prepare for cozy warm winter evenings by the fire.
Priscilla is survived by her son Dennis (Catherine) of St. David’s Ridge, NB, 2 daughters Terry Burpee (Doug) of New Maryland, NB and Joanne Mires (Larry Davis) of St. Stephen, NB, 4 grandchildren, Karen Burpee ( her fiance Oscar Manu), Ryan Burpee (Thea Gegenburg), Meaghan Whittaker and Erin Whittaker, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Priscilla was predeceased by her husband Albert, 1 brother Marshall, and 3 sisters Marie, Eileen & Audrey and two infant sons Larry & Danny.
The funeral service in celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, November 20th, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Kirk McColl United Church. The interment will follow in St. Stephen Rural Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
For attending either the visitation or attending the funeral; under the mandate of the Dept. of Public Health; prescreening protocols will be in place.; proof of vaccination and gov’t I.D will be required to attend. Masks will be mandatory. Due to the current circumstances, surrounding this pandemic, the family have asked out of consideration of everyone in attendance that you respect physical distancing requirements of 6ft.
