Obituary of Darlyne A. Hastey
HASTEY DARLYNE A. Unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, November 10th, 2021; Darlyne Ann (McFarlane) Hastey, wife of the late Robert Elwell Hastey Sr. Born in St. Stephen, NB; she is the daughter of the late Raymond & Roberta (Hall) McFarlane.
Darlyne was a long time dedicated member of Christ Church, Parish of St. Stephen, involved in so many different parts of the church from the choir to the soup kitchen over the years
For most of her life Darlyne was a homemaker to her family. She later went on to work at Lincourt Manor.
Darlyne is survived by her children, Robert Elwell Hastey Jr.(Terri Sue) Tami Sue Chute (Mark), Matthew Bruce Hastey (Mary ) and Rebecca Lela Linton (Randy), 9 grandchildren Seth Chute (Brittany), Craig Chute (Ashely), Bradley Harris, Allyson Chute, Jonathan Hastey, Abigail Linton, Ainsley Linton, Matty Hastey and Adryana Linton,5 great grandchildren Liam Chute, Isadora Chute, Lauren Chute, Gallagher Chute and Levi Chute, 2 sisters Marie Johnson of Rolling Dam,NB, Debra McFarlane of St. Stephen, NB, 1 brother Cedric McFarlane (Judy) of Oak Bay, NB, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Darlyne was predeceased by her husband Robert, 1 sister Lois, 3 brothers Guilford ,Cecil and Bernard brother in law Paul Johnson(Marie) 2 sisters in law Anne(Bernard) and Diane(Guilford)
By Darlyne’s request there will be no public visitation. Cremation will take place. Due to the current unpredictable circumstances, surrounding the pandemic and as directed by the Dept. of Public Health, a graveside service will be held on Friday, November 19th,2021 at 2:00 pm at Pomeroy Ridge Cemetery.
Prescreening protocols will be in place. Masks are strongly encouraged if physical distancing can not be accomplished. For those feeling vulnerable, anxious or unwell you should not attend. In lieu of flowers donations to the We Got Your Back Program administered by Atlantic Baptist Church or the Christ Church Bethany Friday Soup Kitchen, or Community Meals on Wheels would be appreciated by the family.
