Obituary of Verna Marie Newman
NEWMAN VERNA M. - Passed away at the Charlotte County Hospital, on Monday, August 3rd, 2015; Verna Marie ( Mitchell) Newman; wife of the late Leon Newman. Born in Campobello, NB she was the daughter of the late Stanley & Ada (Parker) Mitchell. Verna was a longtime and faithful member of the Wilsons’ Beach United Baptist Church. Those who knew Verna; knew of her great love for serving the Lord and her family, cooking and baking, gardening and being an involved member of her community. She is survived by her daughter Natalie Barker (Dana) of Campobello, NB, and her two sons Harvey (Brenda) of Campobello and Donnie (Gert) of Alexander, ME, grandchildren Danielle, Dustin, Aimee, Dawn,Kris, Marcie,Bridget, Donnie, great - grandchildren Caitlyn, Mariah, Brookelyn, Colton, Chase, Cade, Finn, Bailey, Darcy, Zachari, Keegan, Grady, Brody & Brylea, 1 great great grandchild Haidyn, brother Stanley (Mary) and sister Celia Jackson, her best friend Bernie Newman, sisters in law Sissy (Vaughn) and Gloria (Blair),and Mary (Stanley) several nieces, nephews and cousins. Verna was predeceased by her husband Leon, grandson Joe, two great grandchildren Skylar & Dawson and nephew Kenny Mitchell. A funeral service in celebration of Verna’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 5th, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Wilson’s Beach United Baptist Church, Campobello, NB. Pastor Robert Weaver officiating. The interment will immediately follow in Wilson’s Beach Community Cemetery, Head Harbour Road. The family will receive friends at the church during a time of visitation on Tuesday from 7 – 9 only. In lieu of flowers donations to Wilsons Beach United Baptist Church or Edith Lank Camp would be appreciated by the family.
