Obituary of Edith Rosamond Smith
SMITH, ROSE - At the Charlotte County Hospital on Wednesday, May 27th, 2015; Edith Rosamond “Rose” (Anning) Smith, wife of the late Nathaniel James Smith of St. Andrews, NB. Born in St. Andrews, NB she was the daughter of the late Donald & Fern (McDowell) Anning. She was comforted by family at the time of her passing. Rose was 90 years old. Travelling extensively throughout Canada due to her husband's military career, Rose always found a way to contribute to her family with her secretarial skills. When she and Nat retired, they returned to St. Andrews to live in the Smith family home. Rose was a long-time member of the All Saints Anglican Church, dedicated to the well being of those who needed assistance. Rose was never bold, but always caring. She will be remembered for her love of home and family. A talented knitter, she also enjoyed reading and taking scenic drives with Nat. Rose is survived by her son Donald (Mary) of Edmonton, AB; daughter Sharon Turner (James) of Vancouver, BC; five grandchildren: Melanie, Carolyn, Jase, Megan and Casey; two great-grandchildren: Cash Sterling Smith and Ryder Smith, as well as nieces and cousins. Rose was pre-deceased by husband Nat, and two brothers: Bob Anning and Bill Anning. By Rose's request there will be no visitation. Friends are welcome to attend a service of remembrance in celebration of her life to be held at All Saints Anglican Church, King Street, St. Andrews, NB on June 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. The interment will take place in St. Andrews Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to All Saints Anglican Church Building Fund, Alzheimer’s Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
