MUIR (GROOM) MAY C. … At Lincourt Manor, St. Stephen, on Wednesday, March 25th, 2015; May Christina (Vail) (Groom) Muir, formerly of Heathland, NB, wife of the late Marshall Groom and the late Jack Muir. Born in Norton, NB she is the daughter of the late Talmadge & Lily (Tait) Vail. May is survived by her daughters Lorraine Hallowell (Dale), Cheryl Dempsey (James) of St Stephen, NB, Nancy Gillespie (Herb) of Pennfield, NB and Roxanne MacAllister(David) of Quispamsis, NB, 14 grandchildren, Todd,David, Jill, Heather, Mike, Julie, Mark, Johnny, Jenna, Taylor, Matthew, Andrew, Luke & Allyson, several great grandchildren, brother Talmadge Vail (Joanne) of Ontario, sisters, Viola Maxey of Victoria, BC, Ina Russell (Mel) of Bath, NB, Fern Armstrong and Gerna McCullum, both of Norton, NB, also 2 sisters-in-law Priscilla Mires of St Stephen and Audrey Lunn of Boston, Mass,several nieces, nephews and cousins. May was predeceased by her first husband Marshall Groom and her second husband Jack Muir, her daughter Marilyn Groom, a brother Murray and a sister Trudy “Gert”. May's sister Ina recently passed away over Easter weekend of 2015. In Mays’ earlier years she worked as a Registered Nurse with Charlotte County Hospital, first serving in surgery, then in obstetrics finishing up her career of many years in the nursery. She was a longtime member of Kirk McColl United Church serving in the choir. By Mays’ request cremation will take place. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for a time of visitation and celebration of her life on Saturday, April 11th, 2015 from 2 - 4 pm. A graveside memorial service will take place at St Stephen Rural Cemetery, on Saturday, May 30th, 2015 at 2:00 pm, followed by a reception at Kirk McColl United Church Hall. In lieu of flowers donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
