Obituary of Marion Elaine Breton
BRETON, MARION E – passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the Campobello Nursing Lodge. Marion Elaine (Mitchell) Breton was born at “The Narrows”, Campobello Island on December 1, 1936 to parents Richard and Tena(Christine Conley) Mitchell. Wife of the late Edmond Breton and mother of Francine and Michael. Marion was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Marion enjoyed the simple pleasures in life – wildflowers, beaches and her childhood home, Mill Cove. Marion had an active interest in current events especially federal and provincial politics and was a loyal Liberal. She was an avid reader of history, especially Irish/Celtic history and Irish folklore. Marion had an eclectic taste in music from her love of Irish traditional music to the Rolling Stones. Marion served many years as a member of St. Timothy’s Church Council and a member of the Irish Canadian Cultural Association of New Brunswick. Marion worked as a sardine packer with the Connors Bros. sardine cannery company at Wilson’s Beach for 34 years. After its closure, Marion worked an additional 6 years in the salmon industry at Harbour DeLoutre Fisheries. She is survived by her daughter, Francine McEachreon-Breton, son-in-law, Tom McEachreon of Oak Bay, NB; daughter-in-law, Katherine (Kelly) Breton Welshpool, NB; grandchildren Summer McEachreon, Gabrielle and Mitchell Breton, sister Evelyne Huntley, St. Stephen, NB; sister-in-laws Anita (Robert) Freston, Clearwater, BC; and Dora Fleury, Clearwater, BC; brothers James(Christina) Mitchell, Wilsons Beach, NB; Marvin (Sandra) Mitchell, Wilsons Beach, NB; brother-in-laws Arthur (Catherine) Breton, Wilsons Beach, NB; and Roger Cadieux, PQ; several nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by her husband Edmond, son Michael and brother Grayson Mitchell, and sister Annie (Mitchell) Jones, Lorna Mitchell and 2 sisters-in-law, Marie Jeanne (Breton) Cadieux,and Rita Breton and a brother-in-law Louis Fleury. Resting at St.Timothy's Church Campobello from where the visitation will be held on Monday from 3:;00 pm - 4:00 pm (Canadian time). Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 4:00 pm from the church on Monday September 8th, 2014. The interment will take place in the church cemetery followed by a reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers donations to the Hospice of Charlotte would be appreciated by the family.
