Obituary of Robert Elwell Hastey

At the Charlotte County Hospital, on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014; Robert E. Hastey, husband of Darlyne (McFarlane) Hastey of Little Ridge, NB. Born in St. Stephen he is the son of Lela (Madsen) Hastey and the late David Elwell Hastey. Bob was a Millwright by trade. He loved the outdoors hunting, fishing and time with his horses. He enjoyed his antique cars, carving wood and making furniture. Family meant the world to Bob and he idolized his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Darlyne, daughters Tami Chute (Mark) of Little Ridge, Rebecca Linton (Randy) of Brockway, sons Robert Jr. (Terri-Sue) of Regina, SK, Matthew (Mary Harris) of St Stephen, nine grandchildren Seth, Craig, And Allyson Chute, Jonathon Hastey, Bradley Harris, Matty Hastey, Abigail Ainsley and Adryana Linton, two great grandchildren, Liam Chute and Isadora Chute, sisters Edith Belyea (William) of Scotch Ridge, Brenda Richard (Mike) of Mayfield, brothers, Delbert of St. Stephen, Douglas (Lavonne) of Little Ridge, Irving (Crystal) of Little Ridge, Ronald (Sylvia) of St. Stephen, Gary (Linda) of Ledge Road and David (Viola) of BC, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one sister Lori. The family will receive friends at Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street. St Stephen, NB E3L 2B2 (506-466-3110) on Friday, July 4th, 2014 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The memorial service origionally scheduled for Saturday, July 5th , 2014 at 2:00 pm at Christ Church, St. Stephen with Rev. Bill Morton officiating, has been rescheduled due to the severe weather conditions. The funeral service will now take place at the church on Monday, July 7th, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at a later date. In case of severe weather the day of the service please call the funeral home before venturing out for postponement contingency. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of the donor’s would be appreciated by the family.
