Obituary of Corporal Shari Lynn Irving
CORPORAL SHARI LYNN IRVING April 10, 1987 … August 28, 2013 Cpl. Shari Lynn Irving died by accident in Saskatchewan on Wednesday, August 28, 2013. She was an aircraft technician in the 409 Squadron in Cold Lake, Alberta. Shari is survived by her beloved parents, Elaine Price and Darin Townsend. She is also survived by, her biological father James Irving Sr.; her brother James Irving, chosen siblings, Jenn Johnston and Mike Mckeown; and good friends Jenny Milligan and Helen Opie. Shari was the granddaughter of the late Thelma Waddingham) and Alfred Price, Florence Irving and the late John Irving. She is also survived by multiple aunts, uncles cousins and several nieces and nephews. Shari loved children and had been named citizen of the year in Cold Lake for her work with youth. She had a keen sense of humour and was very generous, not only with friends and family, but with anyone who needed help. Shari had many, many friends and loved animals. She is also survived by Max (dog), Sally O’Malley (cat) and Brownie (cat). Shari had rescued Brownie after she had been thrown out a car window. A foundation will be set up in Shari’s memory to facilitate helping relationships between abused, neglected or otherwise traumatised children and therapy animals. In this way, two of Shari’s major life passions will be honoured. A memorial service in celebration of Shari’s life will be held in the chapel of Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB E3L 2B2 (506 … 466 … 3110) on Wednesday, September 18th, 2013 at 1:00 pm. A reception will follow in the Funeral Home Community Room & Reception Centre. For the comfort of everyone in attendance the family would kindly ask that you RSVP the funeral home of your attendance to the service. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to be to the SPCA or to the establishment of the Shari Lynn Foundation. Donations can be made at the funeral home.
