Obituary of Ellen Dorothy Dougherty
DOUGHERTY DOT - Unexpectedly at the Charlotte County Hospital, at the age of 95, on Monday, September 2, 2013; Ellen Dorothy “Dot” (Evans) Dougherty, wife of the late Maynard Dougherty of St. Stephen, NB. Born in St. Stephen, NB, May 10, 1918; she is the daughter of the late Harold & Estella (Talbot) Evans. Dot was a longtime member of Christ Church in St. Stephen. She was also a member of the Junior Ladies Auxillary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 9 St Stephen, as well as a member of the Salmon Falls Seniors and St. Stephen Seniors. Dot was known to her friends as an avid bowler. Dot is survived by her son Bob Dougherty (Marg) of Dufferin, Charlotte Co, NB, daughter Marilyn Dobson (Arthur) of Riverview, NB, daughter – in – law Harriet Dougherty of New Maryland, NB, 6 grandchildren, Cathy Arsenault(Edward), Karen Dougherty – Seamans(Andrew), Rob Dougherty(Jessica), Andrew Dobson, Tristan Dobson(Jen), and Trevor Dougherty (Ashley), 8 great grandchildren, Kenny, Justin, Breanne, Gabrielle, Brett, Joshua, Rebecca, and Cara. Dot is also survived by cousins Roy, and Danny(Karen). Dot had a long time friend Charlotte. Dot was predeceased by her son Gerald. By request of the family there will be no visitation. Cremation will take place followed by a memorial service in celebration of her life to be held at Christ Church, St. Stephen, NB on Monday, September 9,2013 at 2:00 PM. The interment will follow in St. Stephen Rural Cemetery followed by a reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers donations to Christ Church St. Stephen, the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children or charity of the donors`choice would be appreciated by the family.
