Obituary of Betty Hamilton
HAMILTON, BETTY … At the Charlotte County Hospital on Tuesday,July 30th, 2013; Betty (Hitchings) Hamilton, wife of the late Alden Hamilton of St Stephen, NB. Born in St. Stephen, she is the daughter of the late Ralph & Helen (Thornton) Hitchings. She grew up and lived here in St Stephen all her life. Later in life Betty had a strong desire to teach so went away to Halifax, NS, during the summers to further her studies in the education field. Upon returning back home she taught for approxiamately 10 years with the Thelma Kilpatrick School for Special Needs Kids here in St Stephen. She had such a passion for the value of education and higher learning and as she had told many if she could be a professional student she would truly love that. After teaching she worked with the local Canada Manpower Centre where she thoroughly enjoyed helping young people find work. She is survived by her daughter Norma Neate (David) of Mayfield, NB, son Glenn Hamilton of Harvey, NB, 2 grandchildren, Jay MacMillan and Nick Neate, one brother David Hitchings (Lise) of Massachusetts, USA and their children, niece Diane, nephews Michael, Brian and Robbie. Betty was predeceased by 4 brothers Douglas, Ernest, Edgar, Harley. Resting at Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street St Stephen, NB E3L 2B2 (506 … 466 … 3110) from where the service will be held in the chapel on Friday, August 2nd, 2013 at 2:00 pm.
