Obituary of Winslow B. Newman

NEWMAN WINSLOW B - Passed away unexpectedly at the Charlotte County Hospital on Monday, February 18th, 2013. Winslow Blair Newman, husband of Anne Newman of Wilson’s Beach, Campobello, NB was born in Eastport, Maine, USA; he was the son of Delphina (Newman) Doughty and the late Clifford Newman. To all who knew and worked with Winslow, he was known as a very smart man in business, with tremendous integrity and wisdom. Early on in years, he graduated with honours while attending school at Moncton Technical Institute; a few years later, he attended business school in St Andrews for one year. He was Manager of Roosevelt Campobello International Park, Manager of Parlee Beach Provincial Park, and worked approxiamately 8 years with Canada Customs. He was the owner and proprietor of two of his own businesses on Campobello, known as Ridgewood Building Supplies and Schooner Cove Transport. These businesses provided a valuable service to local communities. Winslow was also a member of Wilson’s Beach United Baptist Church, and a faithful and longtime member of the Masonic Lodge, F & A.M. Surviving, in addition to his wife Anne, are his mother Delphina Doughty of Campobello; son Timothy of Virginia; and grandchildren, Meredith & Jack; daughter Sharon Newman of Casseleberry, Florida; stepdaughter Shannon Hill & 2 grandchildren, Kaitlyn & Aidan of Bucksport,Maine; stepdaughter Donielle Fields of New Jersey; his sister, Gail Leavitt (Jimmy) of St. George, NB; niece Andrea McFadden (Jay) and their children Brianna and Tatum; uncles, Roy Mallock (Sheila) and Vaughn Newman(Sissy); brother-in-law Kenneth Hudson (Margaret) and sister-in-law Mary Hudson; special niece Sharon Berry (Dana) and children Catherine and Ryan; nephews and cousins. Winslow is also survived by special friends Chris Smart, Arther Breton, Lewis (Boo) Anthony and Peter Mabey. He was predeceased by his father, Clifford Newman. By Winslow’s request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will take place at Wilson's Beach United Baptist Church at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May, 18th, 2013.
