Obituary of Ewen M. Cross
CROSS EWEN M. … At the Charlotte County Hospital, on Monday March 21st, 2016; Ewen Melvin Cross,husband of the late Kaye (Fiander) Cross of St. Andrews, NB. Born in Beaver Harbour, NB he was the son of the late Leslie & Sarah (Feltham) Cross. A Veteran of World War 2 Ewen served with the Canadian Armed Forces overseas in Europe. Upon returning from the war he became a resident of St. Andrews and lived their most of his life working in the furniture industry, along with many other local jobs he would do when asked. He was a longtime member of All Saints Anglican Church and was a dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion Passamaquoddy Branch, #8 St. Andrews. Ewen thoroughly loved his involvement with the Legion. He was a charter member of the Spruce Hill Club and a senior member of the Heather Curling Club. He enjoyed fishing on Chamcook Lake where he and Kaye had a cottage. He is survived by his 2 sisters Lila Haughn and Verna McFarlane, both of St. Andrews, 2 brothers, Milton (Joyce) of St. Andrews and Gordon (Daphne) of Nfld, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ewen was predeceased by one brother Arnold “Skid”Cross. By Ewens’ request there will be no visitation. A graveside service and Veterans tribute will be held on Saturday, June 4 th at 4:30 pm at St. Andrews Rural Cemetery. Archdeacon John Matheson will officiating. In lieu of flowers donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
