Obituary of Thomas Alexander Mosher
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Thomas Alexander Mosher, age 79, of Oak Bay, NB on August 30, 2026, at the Charlotte County Hospital.
Tom was born in Mohannes, NB to Vera (Sheen) and Bill Mosher on June 1, 1947. He grew up in Little Ridge on the family farm with his 4 brothers. He learned, at an early age, the value of hard work by helping to run the family farm, the Christmas tree business, trapping & logging industry.
As he got older, he became a pioneer as an outfitter/business owner of Canoose Camps, a woodman and a well-known stone mason as the owner of Cut River Rock.
His love for nature led him on numerous adventures including racing canoes, panning for gold in the Yukon, foraging for wild mushrooms all over Canada, learning to fly a plane in his 50’s and learning some of the local Indigenous ways of creating handcrafted birch bark canoes & wood carvings.
One of his many achievements was his training & handling of his Treeing Walker Hound, Penny, to the level of Grand Knight Champion.
While he accomplished much, his proudest title was “Father” to his 3 children.
For 26 years he was blessed with the love of his wife, Jocelyn, who doted on him with all her heart.
Tom is survived by his wife Jocelyn (Noël) Mosher of Oak Bay, NB, his children Peter (Lisa) of Mayfield, NB, Elizabeth (Joseph) of Lower Sackville, NS, & Mark (Kelly) of Oak Hill, NB, his stepchildren Salisha Tatton of Second North River, NB & David Clark (Vanessa) of Saint John, NB, grand children Kael, Jayden & Lilly, his brothers Andrew (Marion), David (Donna) & Michael (Annette) + many extended family members.
He is predeceased by his parents, his brother Phillip (Bernice), his infant brother Ernest + his granddaughter Alexis McDougall.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Humphreys Funeral Home (20 Marks Street St. Stephen NB E3L 2B2) on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 2 pm with burial to follow at the Milltown Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held before the service from 12–2 PM.
